In my book, every day is taco day, am I right?

You can make these tacos using the Trifecta beef patties or using the Trifecta Flat Iron Steak. Regardless of you choice of beef cut, this chipotle sauce will add a rich smoky flavor to your tacos. Dress them up however you desire, and use this recipe as a guideline!

As far as the sauce goes, please I beg you not to be scared away by the ingredient quantity. Stick with me and I assure you, you will have some insanely tasty tacos. Looking for a plant based idea? Look no further! Simply replace the beef for some Beyond Meat! This recipe also qualifies as gluten free if you use corn tortillas. Enjoy!

Nutrition Tip: The serving size for this recipe is two tacos. However, if you need extra calories, simply add extra tacos to your plate to meet your caloric needs. We break down the servings for you below.

Every day that finishes with the letter "y" has been attributed as fitting for tacos. So to help you meet such a high demand of days per year (if you haven't made the math, that's 365 days), here's a quick recipe that can be interchanged with whatever protein your heart desires. Enjoy!

  • 16 ounces or 4 Trifecta beef patties, crumbled
  • 8 each corn tortilla
  • ½ cup store-bought slaw mix or thinly sliced cabbage (use a mandolin) - seasoned lightly.

  • 1 tablespoon chipotle peppers in adobo, canned, pureed
  • ¼ cup whole tomato, canned
  • ¼ cup lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon tart cherry juice, pom juice, or similar (slight bitterness and sweetness)
  • 2 teaspoon garlic, minced + 1 tablespoon olive oil

Garnish, optional:

  • Cilantro, optional
  • Pickled red onions, optional
  • Cotija cheese and lime wedges, optional

  1. In a blender combine the sauce ingredients, and blend. The consistency should be thick, not watery. If sauce is too watery, add half a canned tomato and blend again.
  2. Remove Trifecta beef patty from the tray and crumble cold with your hands into a bowl. Pour blended sauce into the bowl with beef and coat evenly by mixing with a spoon. Microwave for a minute and a half. Remove carefully.
  3. Meanwhile, warm up the tortillas by either using the microwave and reheat them wrapped in napkin cloths for about a minute and a half at 75% of the microwave’s power, or by reheating them on an open flame or on a hot non stick pan, quickly turning the tortillas on each side to warm them through. Keep them warm together wrapped in a napkin cloth.
  4. Put it together: Place two tortillas next to each other on a plate, with opposite ends holding each other up. Place a small bed of the slaw mix or sliced cabbage in the bottom. Top each with 4 ounces of the chipotle beef mix.
  5. Top with cilantro and any other favorite toppings. Enjoy!
