With all of the recent changes surrounding CrossFit and the upcoming Games, there is a lot of excitement this year, and super competitions are popping up. As we all wait patiently to see how everything will pan out, we're also gearing up for the first of five Opens to be released.

So whether you are looking to head to the Games or just test your fitness level, here is what to expect for the CrossFit Open 19.1 with some bonus tips from four-time CrossFit Games Champion and "Fittest Man on Earth," Rich Froning.

CrossFit Open 19.1 Workout

The CrossFit Open 19.1 workout is here!

15 minute AMRAP (as many rounds as possible)

  • 19 wall-balls
  • 19 calorie row
 KEY INFO:
  • Men to use 20-pound ball with 10 foot target
  • Women to use 14-pound ball with 9 foot target

Tip #1

Make sure your row machine is placed as close as possible to your wall ball set-up to save time and keep transitions as minimal as possible.

Tip #2

Break up your wall balls if you need to. This will give you short rest if needed.

Tip #3

Get on the rower as soon as possible. There is no room for rest on the row and this is your opportunity to make up any lost time.

CrossFit Open Predictions

Wondering what to expect for the next Open? Well based on previous years, we can assume that the first two workouts will likely be comprised of popular movements and WODs most people can attempt. This includes standardized movements like burpees, dumbbell movements (you are almost guaranteed to expect these!), pull-ups, toes to bar, and wall balls. Then it is only going to get more challenging from here.
